Confused Minds…

What is interesting about being an entrepreneur is that you are always being pitched. What makes the other side of that funny is that people often get mad when you don’t listen to their pitches. When you have a business that is going well, you are busy. Most of the time, you cannot distract your schedule from your tasks at hand to deal with someone pitching you yet another product.

I will admit, part of this is also because, most of us have an addiction that we don’t admit. Our tiny secret is that we have shiny penny syndrome! We are always thinking outside the box. Heck, we don’t even know what being in the box is like in most cases.

The reason why Entrepreneurs like looking at “shiny pennies” is because we are always searching for processes, software, programs, tools that will make our life easier. Having systems in place for everything we do is critical for productivity. The fact is that we often love the new systems we have in place and find, in time, that they get bogged down. Every now and then, we hit a homerun with something that works great and handles all the changes we make. We call these evergreen. They are harder to find in business than they are in our personal lives.

When someone we know and trust brings us a new penny, we start looking like Dr Evil, washing hands like, oh boy! Well, I had 2 pitches this week and I am so excited about what is getting ready to happen!

We worked so hard yesterday on setting some things up and I am telling you, I am about to explode at the possibilities. The goals are high, with results at a decent margin too.

When you go in various directions, it is often hard to keep yourself on track. Do you find that you have systems, and one or two things can blow them out of the water? What do you do to keep yourself on track?

The biggest system we are working on, as strange as it seems, is our personal life FIRST. Why in the world would we do that? Most people focus on their business life first and then go to personal.

I disagree with that and can show concrete evidence as to why! Take my test!

Here’s why…

You are taking baby steps on creating your dream customer and figuring out the tips we have talked about in business. These are great strides towards first base, or the home plate, if you will. However, these things take time and need to be marinated on so that you can get a vivid picture of who you are serving!

Let’s say you have worked all day, taxing your brain and working on all these projects. You come home, or you leave your home office and you go to the kitchen to get dinner done. What will you make, or do you just grab something? Maybe a pizza or, ugh, what is in the pantry? You look, you see a lot of boxes and cans and bags and nothing appeals to you. Why is that? You decide to just go grab something. You get in the car and head to the fast-food joint. It is about 5 mins to get their and maybe 5 minutes to get my food, 5 minutes back home. Not bad, 15 minutes and I am eating.

Why is it that it is so hard to not fall into this trap?

Simple, a confused mind never buys! So, let’s replay this hot mess and say, you come home, or leave your home office. You look on your fridge and today’s meal is chicken and asparagus. You get out the chicken, the spices, and your cooker. You grab the asparagus and cook it, according to your meal plan. While dinner is cooking, you clean everything you just messed up. Dinner is done in under 30 minutes and you can enjoy a healthy, delicious meal. And the best part is the kitchen is clean too!

What is the difference, besides the obvious of eating healthy and eating junk? Did you miss it? The main difference was organization. When you have your personal life organized, it makes it so easy to take better care of yourself too!

I know this scene well. All my time was focused on my business. Then, at the end of the day, I was exhausted, and I didn’t feel like cooking for an hour and cleaning and, UGH. I started my huge weight gain from this cycle.

I looked back at my life years ago when everyone thought I was a superwoman. I got so much done, still had time for my family, for my hobbies, for charity and myself. What was different? The key, organization!

This is why we start with home. Because if you can get your personal life situated and organized, then all the crazy stuff can stay at work. Your body and mind can get “down time” verses always being on the stress and “go” mode.

It’s kind of like when you have a messy kitchen, the last thing you want to do is get home from work and clean. How depressing is that? If you are not convinced what this does to your internal mental state, test this.

Tonight, leave your mess in the kitchen. When you wake tomorrow, go to the kitchen and see how that makes you feel. It starts your day crappy! It is not energizing at all! If you really pay attention to your entire day, you feel less focused, more negative. If you don’t think this is true, we are going to repeat this again tomorrow, but we are going to actually CLEAN the kitchen. Use the cleaner you love and do the floors and everything before you go to bed. Now, go to the kitchen and compare your energy level. Watch your day and see if you are more focused and get things done a little faster.

When your personal life gets organized, it allows your mind to rest. When you eat healthier, your body has time to recover too!

The fact is that your business moves constantly. Your personal life can be more set. Typically we get up, we eat breakfast, we go to work (either driving or to our home office), we come home (or end our work day), we go through the mail and think about dinner or things that we need to do at home. Then, generally we watch our favorite shows and go to sleep.

When we go to work, we have a schedule that we typically follow. As a business owner, that schedule can get knocked off kilter FAST! With that said, you can often find yourself exhausted more on some days and feeling like you just finished a tennis marathon, running here and there.

Other days, you can absolutely stick to your schedule and your day is progressive for project completion.

Here is the fact: Personal schedules are easier to stick to, as opposed to work schedules. Why is that? We generally follow patterns in our personal life. Every now and then, there is a fire that has to be dealt with, but the general schedule is the same. The weekends come and typically, we even plan those out. Maybe the plan is to do nothing. Maybe we are cleaning the house and hanging out with friends. Maybe we are watching Hallmark movies or binging a TV series.

With business, we are always looking at growth and getting more productive systems in place. It also means we are testing new things always. Each new thing we add always creates another issue that we must deal with. This is true in all aspects of life.

If we put a new diet in our life, it causes havoc all around for a bit, until we get the system down to handle this change.

We are starting a beginner’s course on organization. The course will be free for everyone joining our Facebook group before January 25th, 2021. We are also providing menu planning and other tools that will help with organization. Our primary focus will be on personal for now. We will transition to business as well. Actually, we will be putting little tips to help in your professional life in the group too. We know that you can do both, but the main focus will be personal.

Join us and make this year more productive and healthier on so many levels! We will be having fun! There will be giveaways, challenges, recipes, organization tips, timesaving tips and so much more!

Tomorrow, we talk about ecosystem…and tools.

Ecosystems…what does this mean and how does it affect my business? Tomorrow!

The 🤫“dirty secret” I promised and the golden nugget…Do you plug into all of your company’s power hours and recruiting calls? Do you see a pattern? Do you, or have you followed that same pattern? Why are some MLM companies holding recruiting calls weekly and trying to create a “social movement” when others are keeping their old school tactics? What is right and what is wrong. None of it is either! Sometimes, you can use these systems and they work. Sometimes you use them and they don’t work for you. The secret is that those who use the system and find success often think that is the only way. If you are not finding success, they are unsure how to give you any other tools. So, they tend to ignore you. They tell you to continue to plug in and work the system.

Take time today to determine what things you spend the MOST time on each day. Reflect back to last week so that you can start to get ideas on where you want to focus first for your organization.

For now, I have to bounce…

Be your best and don’t copy your upline!

🥂Cheers,

Stacey
